Stories of sun-kissed Rajasthan
Rajasthan’s culinary landscape is a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of its rich history and diverse geography. Stretching from the shimmering golden sands of the Thar Desert in the west to the rugged high peaks of the Aravalli Range in the east, the people of Rajasthan have long displayed remarkable ingenuity in cultivating the land and growing crops amidst the harsh climate.
In the bustling capital city of Jaipur, (the city which has inspired the interiors of our new restaurant in Shoreditch), one can’t help but overhear excited murmurs about Laal Maas, a dish that epitomises the region’s culinary prowess. This fiery deep red curry, whose name translates to “red meat,” hails from the royal kitchens of Jodhpur and Udaipur. Originally crafted by khansamas for the valiant Rajput hunters, Laal Maas emerged out of a need to transform the game captured on hunting expeditions into something extraordinary, using the humble ingredients available in the wilderness.
Our first Beer & Curry Night of 2025 is inspired by Rajasthani cuisine, including a Venison Laal Maas at the heart of our thali surrounded by dishes like Bhindi Kurkuri and Sev Tamatar ki Sabzi and Idli. The dishes have been paired with three of our favourite Cornish brews by our friends at Harbour, whose mission is to create flavour-packed yet easy-drinking beers, whether you’re on a sunny beach (or in this case, transported to the Thar desert) or cosying up after a windy walk. Read the full menu here.
This menu will be available exclusively at Brixton on Wednesday 19th of March.
Tickets are £40 per guest and include snacks, your thali, dessert and three beers from our friends at Harbour.
